Dr. Schwarzbeck’s practice follows United States standards as detailed within HIPAA guidelines. Within these guidelines personal health information and practice records are kept private and unavailable. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requires privacy protection for health information (PHI). Thus within HIPAA compliance, the Health Care Authority (HCA) prohibits release of private health information (PHI) without executed authorization.
